GitHub Copilot

Folder in every kit: copilot/. Starter projects already have these files installed.

  1. Copy copilot/.github/ into your repo root, merging with an existing .github folder.
  2. copilot-instructions.md applies to every chat. Files in .github/instructions/ apply through applyTo globs. Prompt files in .github/prompts/ run as /plan-feature in VS Code chat.

Format notes

Copilot also reads AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md in some surfaces, so to avoid duplicated context, install only one tool's files unless your team mixes tools.
